Catching up

Granny Ann,

You were most welcoming when I was introduced to the family and there are so many afternoon we sat and chatted. Your love of your family history and how proud you were of your boys and their families often the topic of conversation. The love for all of your grandchildren and great grandchildren was evident in the joy they obviously brought you both when seeing them and talking about them. The delight in receiving emails with updates about their adventures and activities was always so evident.

You will always be remembered for your hours spent and interest in your wider family tree, pulling together so much history and coming alive when organising reunions or making contact with a new distant relative. The delight you exuded when we told you that my mum had a nurse at an appointment, recently married who was so pleased to meet a Lidstone when I was listed as mum’s next of kin, and with just her and her dad’s name you were able to send information on about her great grandparents and wider family. We handed that information on to her and she was over the moon.

Whenever I think of you , it will always remind me of the tiny size of the world when you have so many friendships as you are independently connected through a few of my very good friends who themselves, and their parents remember you amd talking with you so fondly.

Honoured to have had you as part of my family for sio many years. May you now move with ease and gusto once more.

Love Claire x
